Symptoms include exhibiting any of the following: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.
Free testing is available at locations throughout the Northwest Arkansas region. Many sites require you to be pre-screened online or by phone and to make an appointment. We’ve pulled together a list of locations, below.
If you’re exhibiting no symptoms, but have had significant contact with confirmed COVID-19-positive individuals, testing is encouraged. Significant contact is defined to be less than six feet from COVID-19-positive individuals for more than 15 minutes without a face covering.
If you have been exposed to COVID-19 but do not exhibit the testing criteria listed, contact your Local Arkansas Department of Health Unit for testing. Northwest Arkansas Local Health Unit information is listed at the links below.
Arkansas Children’s Northwest

COVID-19 testing is available by appointment only at the drive-through testing site for both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients up to age 21 with an order from a physician. Once an order is obtained, parents can call to schedule an appointment for drive through testing.

ADH has activated a call center to answer questions from health care providers and the public. Free testing is available for patients ages 1 and older. Patients should call first to determine whether testing is necessary and to make an appointment. The local health units are collecting insurance information, but there is no out-of-pocket expense to the patient. All Negative Rapid Tests are followed by a PCR Test. Patients are recommended to quarantine while they receive their PCR results in 3-7 days.

The Bella Vista Fire Department and EMS’ Community Paramedics will offer in-home testing for COVID-19, as needed, following pre-screenings and telemedicine visits for patients who meet certain criteria. This is a coordinated effort with Northwest Medical Plaza–Sugar Creek.

Anyone who wishes to be tested can register online. Antibody testing also available. A video visit will be scheduled first, then the individual will be given an appointment for testing. Antibody testing is also available. Testing is available for ages six months and older.

Mercy COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing Site

With the number of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations continuing to increase in Northwest Arkansas, Mercy reopened its COVID-19 testing site in Bentonville to all patients. The site is exclusively for patients who have symptoms of COVID-19, including fever, cough and fatigue, or have had contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19. The drive-thru site will do testing by appointment and will also accept those who don’t have an appointment. Anyone seeking an appointment should go to mercy.net/COVIDtestNWA to directly schedule.
Mercy NWA COVID-19 Test Collection Site

An evaluation site for patients with symptoms of possible COVID-19. Anyone seeking a test must call Mercy’s COVID-19 Evaluation Site screening line for evaluation and an appointment. If you are a Mercy patient, a referral from your primary care physician is preferred. Please note, Spanish-speaking screeners are available. All other languages are supported with phone translators.
Northwest Health is no longer providing COVID-19 testing. Patients are being referred to the Arkansas Department of Health. If you are a Northwest Health patient, contact your provider for more information.
The COVID-19 UAMS Hotline is for people who have questions or feel they may have symptoms. Online screening is available for free COVID-19 screenings. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to patients of all ages across the state of Arkansas and is accessible from a smart phone, tablet, laptop, or computer with video capabilities. Spanish and Marshallese screeners are also available.

UAMS is offering a drive-thru COVID-19 testing for all ages and two-dose Pfizer vaccine for patients ages 12 and older.
AR-Connect Call Center
8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday
Arkansans experiencing mental health issues or stress related to the COVID-19 pandemic may receive immediate help 24 hours a day through the UAMS AR-Connect program with no out-of-pocket cost to the patient. The AR-Connect call center is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A live video virtual clinic operates Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5pm.
Veterans Health Care

For veterans concerned they may have symptoms of COVID-19, flu or cold, contact the VA before going to scheduled appointments. Clinical staff are available to provide 24/7 virtual care and support, including nurse advice and triage. This service is available at no cost to Veterans enrolled for VA health care.

Walgreens is offering free drive-thru testing by appointment only for patients ages 3 and older. Patients must complete an online assessment to schedule an appointment.
Walmart / Quest
Drive-Thru Testing Site
Walmart and Quest have opened a testing site for anyone with symptoms. Those seeking testing must first qualify for COVID-19 screening and then schedule an appointment online. There are 16 locations throughout the Northwest Arkansas region.
