COVID-19 Response

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the Northwest Arkansas Council, in collaboration with the region’s health care providers, has led efforts to develop and distribute resources to the community on how to respond to the pandemic. These efforts have included developing and maintaining resources for screening, treating and containing the coronavirus and a listing of available testing centers.

Thanks to funding from the CARES act and at the recommendation of the Centers of Disease Control, we worked to establish a testing center, hire bilingual contact tracing and navigation staff, and provide tests for the uninsured and vulnerable populations in Northwest Arkansas.

On behalf of the Northwest Arkansas health care community, we are providing the following information to help inform and educate our region.

Citing declining cases and decreased hospitalizations in the state, Governor Asa Hutchinson ended the statewide mask mandate on March 30. Arkansans are asked to please respect the decisions of businesses and venues in the state that are still requiring masks.
