Country music star Kenny Chesney leads an impressive list of acts performing at the Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion later this year.
Concert organizers earlier today announced Chesney’s show will be July 30 and it comes a few weeks after performances by Brantley Gilbert with special guest Casey Donahew Band (May 1), Chicago (May 3) and the Steve Miller Band (May 16).
All four acts shows were announced by Walmart AMP officials. A May 19 performance at the Walmart AMP by the Dave Matthews Band was made public on Tuesday.
The Walmart AMP’s announcement of some of its top acts for 2015 comes as the facility is being prepared for the start of its second concert season in Rogers.
The $11 million amphitheater opened in June 2014, and last year saw such acts as Willie Nelson, Boston, Foreign, Foster the People and Foreigner take the stage.
The amphitheater is the largest concert venue in Northwest Arkansas with 3,000 fixed, covered seats and space for more than 4,000 concertgoers in a large lawn seating area.
The amphitheater’s central location near Interstate 49 is no more than a 20-minute drive from most of the region’s more than 500,000 residents. However, it’s easily accessible from nearby urban centers such as Fort Smith, Tulsa and Joplin, Mo.
Information about when tickets go on sale for each of the concerts can be found at the Walmart AMP website.
