The chief executive officer of Tyson Foods took over this week as the Northwest Arkansas Council’s presiding co-chair.
Smith fills the role held by Jim Walton. Walton began serving as presiding co-chair in July 2015.
The Council at its annual meeting on Wednesday also revealed who will lead the nonprofit organization over the next few years.
Future presiding co-chairs will be Joseph E. Steinmetz, chancellor of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville; Nick Hobbs, president of Dedicated Contract Services at J.B. Hunt Transport Services in Lowell; and Todd Simmons, chief executive officer at Simmons Foods in Siloam Springs.
