The University of Arkansas Center for Business and Economic Research will release its sixth annual State of the Northwest Arkansas Region Report at a luncheon on Sept. 30 in Lowell.

Kathy Deck, the center’s director, will present the report’s findings and talk about how Northwest Arkansas compares to other regions that are being used as benchmarks. Those benchmarks include Madison, Austin, Des Moines, Durham-Chapel Hill and Raleigh.

The luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. at the Northwest Arkansas Board of Realtors Event Center, 314 N. Goad Springs Road.

The cost for the program and luncheon is $40. The deadline to preregister is Sept. 26, and it can be completed at this link.

The Northwest Arkansas Council collaborates owith the Center for Business and Economic Research on the report. Previous reports show the region has kept up with its competitors in several key areas.

Past reports have looked at how Northwest Arkansas compares in areas such as gross domestic product, employment, per capital personal income, poverty, educational attainment, commuting times, research and development spending, and home ownership.

Special thanks to our major investors for their support of the Northwest Arkansas Council and our work in the region:
