The Tyson Family Foundation and the Willard and Pat Walker Charitable Foundation will match gift card sales purchased on SupportLocalNWA.com for NWA Gives — an annual, 12-hour charitable giving event that benefits nonprofits in Northwest Arkansas.
SupportLocalNWA is an online gift card marketplace launched on March 23 to support the financial needs of Northwest Arkansas’ small business owners during the COVID-19 pandemic. All proceeds from gift card sales will go directly to the small businesses.
Spearheaded by Movista, the initiative now has support from individual volunteers and other businesses like Prisma (formerly Adair Creative). Community members interested in contributing or partnering on the site should contact info@supportlocalnwa.com.
The dollar-for-dollar matching gift for up to $100,000 can benefit more than 300 nonprofits in Northwest Arkansas that are partnered with NWA Gives. Each customer will have the opportunity to choose which nonprofit they would like to benefit.
The process is:

Customers buy gift card vouchers to their favorite local businesses.

During the checkout process, customers will select a nonprofit to receive the matching donation.

Customers take voucher numbers to the businesses at their leisure to exchange directly for goods and services.

Dollars are disbursed to the nonprofits by NWA Gives.

The community can participate in the matching program until 8 p.m.
