New data released Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau shows 19 of the 30 fastest growing cities in Arkansas are in Benton County.
The new population estimates from the Census Bureau confirms that the growth in Arkansas’ fastest growing county between April 2010 and July 2011 wasn’t limited to Bella Vista, Bentonville and Rogers, its three biggest cities.
All those cities were listed among the 19, but so were Gateway, Sulphur Springs, Highfill, Lowell, Gentry, Gravette, Cave Springs, Centerton, Bethel Heights, Pea Ridge Garfield, Little Flock, Decatur, Avoca and Siloam Springs.
Springdale, which added 1,605 residents during the 15 months, is mostly in Washington County but growth in its northern areas would have been in Benton County.
In terms of increasing population, three of the five cities adding the most residents are in Northwest Arkansas. They are Springdale, Rogers and Fayetteville.
Here’s how much Northwest Arkansas’ largest cities grew in population between April 2010 and July 2011:
City April 2010 July 2011

Bentonville 35,301 36,295
