University Center Plans ‘Energy Jobs’ Events

The Applied Sustainability Center at the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas will host four “Energy Jobs for Arkansas” events to highlight the potential for the advanced energy sector to create jobs.

“Arkansas has economic resources in energy efficiency, renewable energy and alternative fuels that still have room for development, which can create needed jobs,” said Michele Halsell, managing director of the Applied Sustainability Center. “Developing these energy sources will also help to stabilize energy prices and attract new investors to our state.”

The first of the four events will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at the Jones Center for Families in Springdale. Three similar events will be held in early January across the state.

The events are free and open to the public.
