The NorthWest Arkansas Community College Foundation at Thursday night’s 10th Annual NWACC Scholarship Gala honored the Northwest Arkansas Council as one of three Quality of Life Honorees.

The Council, a private nonprofit organization, at the banquet was described as “a catalyst and collaborator for finding solutions to the opportunities and challenges facing this thriving region by developing and implanting strategy for improving Northwest Arkansas.”

The foundation at the “Plant a Seed” Scholarship Gala described the Council as being “in a unique position to connect companies or families with key stakeholders and influencers.”

Accepting the award from College President Becky Paneitz on behalf of the Northwest Arkansas Council’s membership was Scott Van Laningham, president and CEO of the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport and member of the Council’s Executive Committee.

The other Quality of Life Honorees on Thursday night were David Thrasher and Susan Chambers.

Thrasher, who lives in Rogers, is a member of the NWACC Foundation’s Board of Directors, serving as board chairman for eight years. He’s a founding member of the foundation’s new Post Oak Society. The society recognizes those who leave legacy gifts to benefit future NWACC students.

Susan Chambers is executive vice president of Walmart’s People Division. She is a member of the President’s Circle, a giving society that helps provide NWACC students with hardship assistance.

Special thanks to our major investors for their support of the Northwest Arkansas Council and our work in the region:
